Half Day Introduction to Bushcraft

Join Kazz on a 3 hour journey in some of the wilder parts of the island discovering wild edible and medicinal plants, natural navigating skills, making cordage using plants and trees, and finally the great achievement of making fire by friction or other more modern methods.

Wild Food Forage

Come and get lost in the wilds of St. Ouen; take in fantastic scenery, encounter local wildlife and learn about the vast variety of wild edible and medicinal plants our unique environment has to offer.
Duration of walk approx. 2 1/2 hours, please dress with an eye on the weather and bring along any food and drink you may need.

Coastal Foraging

This coastal forage along a stretch of St Ouen’s beach taking in the tide and shore line, will identify edible plants, seaweeds and shellfish as we go. Kazz will also track down some coastal plants. Cooking on a beach fire, we will then prepare the foraged foods and learn about any healthy properties they may hold.
Duration of walk approx. 2 1/2 hours, please dress with an eye on the weather and bring along any food and drink you may need.

Fire by Friction

This course is a one day course focusing on the construction of your own native American fire bow. This is one of the most fulfilling ways to create fire without the use of modern methods, more importantly could really get you out of a dangerous situation when all other methods of fire making are inaccessible to you.

Introduction to Bushcraft – The Woodland Way

Join Kazz on this 6 day survival course for those really wanting to extend their knowledge of bushcraft. Location in the mountains of northern Spain.

Overnight Bush Camps

Explore further with Kazz with Seafood foraging and cooking methods, building a greater understanding of wild edible and medicinal plants, natural navigating skills, making cordage using plants and trees, foraging and tracking, fire making using a variety of methods, and group shelter building from all natural materials with options of sleeping in. The overnight location is off the beaten track in a truly magnificent part of the island.

Shelter Building

This one day course will explore a variety of shelter designs with the opportunity to construct your own shelter individually or as small groups. We will explore shelters for use in short or long term situations.
